About the Park
Armand Bayou Nature Center (ABNC) is one of the largest urban wilderness preserves in the United States. ABNC contains more than 2,000 natural wetlands forest, prairie and marsh habitats that were once abundant in the Houston/Galveston area. The Nature Center is home to over 370 species of birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians, as well as the restored historic 1890’s Martyn Farm home and farm buildings. It also offers hiking trails, exhibits, field trips, Scout programs, and more!

I have traveled around the world to many places, and ABNC is the most beautiful place by far. The Armand Bayou Nature Center is a beautiful, peaceful place and I absolutely love it! I love volunteering here but have so much to learn. Great walk in the woods not too far away! Come and learn with me.
