Neighborhood Services

The Harris County Precinct 2 Neighborhood Services Department focuses on engaging, educating and empowering Harris County Precinct 2 residents. Through active community engagement and strong community partnerships, its five divisions work in the planning, development, organization, and implementation of programs and services to assist in responding to the issues of neighborhoods and individual residents.

  • Parks and Trails
    • To enhance the quality of life of Precinct 2 residents by providing safe, well-maintained parks and public places; preserving open space and historic resources; caring for people; strengthening the bonds of community; and creating opportunities for renewal, growth, and enrichment.

  • Community Centers
    • To foster inclusive community participation by providing safe, well-maintained community center facilities for workforce development, education, arts recreation, celebration, and locally based human services in order to increase opportunity for personal and collective growth in our community.

  • HEALTH Services
    • To empower Precinct 2 residents by developing and implementing creative community-based programs that enhance economic opportunity, strengthen neighborhoods, and ensure a dynamic framework for quality growth and development.

    • To improve the quality of life and foster a sense of neighborhood, community and family for all residents in Precinct 2 by providing safe, professional, timely, cost-effective nutrition and transportation services through collaborative work with individuals and independent agencies.

    • To provide oversight, management, and assistance in acquiring supplemental resources through constant monitoring of local, state, and federal available resources.
