Commissioner Adrian Garcia puts Second Ferry into Service to Help with Traffic due to the Protesters on the Fred Hartman Bridge

Harris County, TX— Thursday, September 12, 2019- Commissioner Adrian Garcia is closely monitoring the protest on the Fred Hartman Bridge and working with Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, who is leading the management of the situation.

At this time, two northbound lanes on the bridge are shutdown, traffic is moving slowly and no water vessels are allowed in the area. To help with traffic, Precinct 2 has put a second ferry into service until 8 p.m. tonight and will start service again at 4:30 a.m. tomorrow, if traffic volumes require it.  Commuters are being asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
