HARRIS COUNTY, TX – July 22, 2019 – The Washburn Tunnel will be closed from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. daily, beginning Monday, August 5th to Friday, August 9th.

Harris County, TX— On August 9, over 190 Precinct 2 seniors and teens came together at the East Harris County Activity Center thinking it was just another bingo day. Little did they know what was about to unfold.

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – September 26, 2019 – This week Commissioner Adrian Garcia helped bring much needed change to Harris County’s Down Payment Assistance Program. The Commissioner pushed for updates that will significantly reduce the time applicants have to wait to receive funds and streamlines processes.

Houston, Tx – The Houston-Galveston Area Council’s local development corporation announced today that applications submitted by area small businesses for the Harris County COVID-19 Forgivable Loan Program are currently being reviewed by assigned underwriters. 

On Tuesday, August 27, Harris County Commissioners Court voted unanimously to establish the Veterans services Department as a standalone department that reports directly to the court, bringing the department into compliance with state law.

HOUSTON, Texas – The Lynchburg Ferry will be closed starting Tuesday, February 25th until late 2020 for necessary improvements to preserve the longevity of its operations. During this closure, crews will be reconstructing the approaches and transfer ramps that go onto and off the Lynchburg Ferry Boats. 

Summer is coming to a close, school season is drawing near, and Precinct 2 students are going back to the classrooms. While some kids are excited to commence their first day back to school, some are nervous to leave their parents for their first time, and parents are wondering, “Am I prepared enough?”

Harris County Precinct 2 Commissioner Adrian Garcia met with federal officials in Washington, D.C., this week to advocate for infrastructure resources and enhancing safety and collaboration with the chemical industry after the ITC explosion.
