HARRIS COUNTY PRECINCT 2 PARKS TO BE CLOSED TO PUBLIC STARTING THURSDAY AT 8 PM
Harris County, TX — Following Judge Lina Hidalgo’s order to close all county parks to the public, Harris County Precinct 2 Commissioner Adrian Garcia has ordered all Precinct 2 parks to be closed to the public beginning this Thursday, April 9th at 8 p.m. To help prevent further spread of Covid-19, there will be no picnicking, no congregating or swimming permitted. The parks closures will remain in effect until Monday, April 13th at 8 a.m.

Commissioner Adrian Garcia issued the following statement:
“I support Judge Hidalgo’s decision to close Harris County Parks for Easter weekend. All of our decisions are made with the goal of keeping residents safe and healthy. We know Easter weekend is special for so many in our community, however we want take precautions to prevent large crowds from gathering at the parks.”
In addition, due to the ongoing limitations in place because of the County Judge’s Stay-At-Home order, Precinct 2-sponsored open-water training for Sylvan Beach Lifeguards is postponed until further notice.
