VV Ramsey Veterans Center

Named after a local World War II hero, the VV Ramsey Veterans Center is home to our veterans’ support services. It also serves as a gathering place for veterans and their families.

Veterans Small Businesses

Small businesses are the engine of our economy. Precinct 2 offers a specialized program for veterans who want to grow their businesses.

Services and Programs

Precinct 2 proudly assists with healthcare, transportation, pensions, compensation filings, death pension claims, burial benefits, grave markers, and more.

Veterans Memorial Park

Precinct 2 is home to Veterans Memorial Park – a serene, solemn green space to honor our nation’s heroes.

Honoring our veterans

Precinct 2 has expanded its services and programs for veterans through the help of partner organizations since 2019. From becoming the first and only Nationally Accredited Veterans Service Office in Harris County to partnering with Operation Yellowbird, Commissioner Garcia and the entire Precinct 2 family are honored to serve our heroes.

Kathy's story

Kathy Lyerla remembers the call that prompted a sigh of relief from her husband just days before he took his last breath. Precinct 2’s Veteran Services Officer, Cassie Gibson, notified Lonnie “Gino” Lyerla that he was approved to receive full veterans’ disability benefits. Watch this video to hear Kathy’s story.
